1. Who we are
Synmathisi (synmathisi.com) is a digital education platform and the data controller for the personal data described here.
2. What we collect
- Account data: first name, last name, email, phone (optional), date of birth (optional).
- Learning data: enrolments, progress, quiz answers, assignments, live class attendance.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, sign-in timestamps — for security and abuse prevention.
- Teacher data: biography, qualifications and verification documents submitted with an application.
3. Legal bases
Performance of a contract, legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention), consent (marketing, optional cookies) and legal obligation (tax, child protection).
4. Minors
The platform is used by minors. Users under 16 require the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not show targeted advertising to minors and we do not sell data to third parties. See also our Child Safety page.
5. Who we share data with
- With the teacher of a course you are enrolled on — only name, progress and submissions relating to that course.
- With infrastructure providers (EU hosting), our email service and, where used, a video provider.
- With the authorities where required by law or where a child may be at risk.
6. Retention
Account data is kept while the account is active and for 24 months after deletion, unless the law requires otherwise. Security and log data is kept for a shorter period.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Use the contact page to exercise them. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), password hashing, role-based access control and regular backups.
